Brief

Vamshi's Abode started with a brief of creating furniture pieces that blended with the interiors which was a perfect mix of traditional and modern. It was to bring out the richness of tradition while maintaining functionality offered by contemporary pieces. With this in mind, we closely worked with Studio Lore and the clients to create home that rooted in both the past and the present.

From the onset, the clients wanted a swing as the centerpiece of their living space. We chose a two-seater solid teak swing witha cane-woven backrest, blending tradition with modernity through solid brass chains with animal motifs and clean, simple forms.

The bedrooms were designed for coziness and comfort. The guest bed, a half-poster with antique-detailed legs, featured a green upholstered headboard contrasting with teak’s warmth and included four storage drawers for efficient space use.

The master bed perfectly embodied the brief. Carved stone, typically used for pillars, formed the front legs, offset within the frame fora lighter look and added safety. The heavy legs were balanced by a thin, elegant frame and a wall-mounted upholstered headboard, minimizing support structures. On client's request, we found antique panels from Rajasthan, that were fixed on either side of the headboard to frame it and bring in a sense of grandiose.
